Please Get Involved
We are inviting parishioners to consider getting involved in different parish ministries. We are currently seeking volunteers for all ministries, but especially for Children’s Liturgy, Sacramental Preparation and R.C.I.A Instructors, Ushers and Ministers of Hospitality, and Altar Servers.
Workshops for each ministry will be held as required. The parish depends on and is grateful for the support of our parishioners through their time and talents. Please consider volunteering for one or more ministries.
If you are interested in joining one or more ministries or would like to learn more, please contact the parish office.
Altar Servers
The Altar Server assists the members of the liturgical assembly by presenting or arranging vessels and other items used in the celebrations. Their reverent and efficient service enables other ministers to attend to their own roles while the liturgical actions unfold with calm, order and appropriate decorum.
Children's Liturgy
The Liturgy of the Word with Children assists with presenting Liturgy of the Word to children. Liturgy of the Word with Children is suitably adapted to be made relevant to the lives and experiences of young children preparing them for full participation in the Liturgy. It gives them an opportunity to receive and respond to the Sunday readings.
Choir & Children's Choir
The Choir’s role has great importance in the Parish’s Liturgy. Members of the choir share in the proper performance of the music sung, and encourage the active participation of the faithful in the singing.
Communion to the Sick
The purpose of this ministry is to celebrate Communion of the Sick with parishioners who are unable to attend regular liturgy. This ministry provides the sick, homebound and/or institutionalized with a sense of community and belonging due to illness or infirmity.
Eucharistic Minister
Eucharistic Minister of Communion serves the life of the community by assisting during the Rite of Communion. You assist the celebrant during liturgy in sharing the Eucharistic body and blood of Christ.
Greeter, Ushers, Collectors
The Greeters, Ushers and Collectors serve the Liturgy by helping to establish a climate of welcome, helpfulness and order among those gathered. They assist the assembly with practical details so that the Liturgy and Sacred Rites can be celebrated with ease and grace which includes the collection prior to the offertory.
Lectors
The Lector serves the liturgical assembly by proclaiming Sacred Scripture during the Liturgy of the Word. The competent exercise of this role enables the Church, the people of God to hear the Word of God more clearly and receive it more readily. A Lector leads the Prayer of the Faithful in the absence of the Deacon.
Musicians
The Musicians enhance the choir and the active participation of the faithful in the singing.
R.C.I.A.
R.C.I.A. prepares adult candidates who wish to become Catholic or fully initiated into the Catholic Church. An individual will study the Compendium of the Catechism of the Catholic Church and experience the Christian way of life as you journey to initiation into the life of the Church.
Sacramental Preparation Instructors
Our various preparation courses are necessary for children and families planning to celebrate one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation; Baptism, First Holy Eucharist and Confirmation, as well as the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. Instructors help to educate and ensure that the children, new parents and godparents have a full understanding of what the Sacrament means and why it is important to us as Catholics as well as specifics on how it is celebrated.
Social Committee
The Social Committee helps to promote a welcoming, receptive and active social environment in the parish by planning and implementing various social events, celebrations and activities occurring at the parish. The Social Committee Member assists in the planning and organization of these events.
